Instructor Credentials


"Marksmanship Instruction" is operated by J.R. Fiveash who is a NRA Certified Pistol & Rifle Instructor with over 35 years of experience in teaching Firearms to Citizens and Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Officers. He is a LIFE member of the National Rifle Association and Member of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. He is a Certified Firearms Instructor by the Police Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council of Georgia.

He is a Retired Waycross, Georgia Police Captain with 26 years of service to the public. For the 17 years, 1991 to 2008,  he taught Firearms at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Georgia.

He began shooting competitively in 1973 in 2700 point 3 gun Bullseye matches. In 1976, was a founding member of the Georgia Police Combat League, which held their first match in April 1976 at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Brunswick, Ga. Competitions were held in locations all over Georgia and at the end of the competitive season, the top 20 shooters were awarded the "Georgia Governors Twenty Medal". In 2010, received the 25 Year Award for making the Governor's Twenty for twenty-five years.

He is a Nationally Distinguished shooter with Revolvers and Semi autos. Has won numerous awards in shooting competitions including National Records. Member of the winning 1998 National and World Championship Police Pistol Team.  Several Regional and State Team Championships in 2 & 4 Man Teams.
